Inclement weather rules:

To manage the tournaments with potential rain delays and keep the pace of play moving, TAIAO implements the following rules for games that might be cut short. These rules aim to ensure fairness, maintain the tournament schedule, and prioritize player safety:

  • A game is considered official if at least 4 innings are completed (or 3.5 innings if the home team is ahead).

  • If a game is stopped due to rain before it’s official, it’s suspended and resumed from the same point (same count, runners, etc.) when conditions allow, ideally on the same field.

  • If resuming isn’t possible (e.g., due to tournament progression or field constraints), the game may be declared a tie (in pool play) or decided by a tiebreaker (in elimination rounds, see below).

  • For elimination games that can’t be resumed, use a tiebreaker to determine the winner if the game isn’t official:

    • Team with the lead after the last completed inning, regardless of innings played.

    • If still tied, use head-to-head performance in the tournament or coin flip as a last resort.
