I hope this email finds you well as we wrap up another exciting season of TAIAO football. As we approach the postseason, I wanted to provide a clear outline of the All-Star selection process for the 2025 season. This process is designed to recognize outstanding player performances and ensure fairness across divisions and regions. Overview
The All-Star selection begins with the nomination and selection of All-State players, from which the All-Star rosters are drawn. One All-Star game will be played per division and the games will be played on Saturday, Dec 6th at San Marcos Academy. There is a mandatory practice Friday night December 5th with a dinner provided at the field following the practice.Step
1: Player Nominations
- Each team may nominate players for All-State consideration based on maximum/minimum selections tied to your league’s performance (e.g., more nominations for higher-finishing teams).
- Nominations should highlight players who have demonstrated exceptional skill, leadership, and impact on the field.
- Submit nominations via the designated TAIAO Nomination Form. The Nov 2nd deadline will be strictly enforced.
Step 2: Qualification Check
- All nominated players must meet minimum participation requirements: completion of at least two quarters in a minimum of 6 games during the regular season (one game can be a forfeit).
- Coaches in each division and region will receive a compiled list of nominations for review. Please verify eligibility for your nominees using game logs from MaxPreps.
Step 3: All-State Selection Meeting
- Regional coaches will convene Wednesday, November 5th, via google meet meeting to review nominations, discuss candidates, and vote on All-State honors.
- Selections will result in 1st Team, 2nd Team, and Honorable Mention All-State lists per division and super region.

Step 4: All-Star Roster Formation
- All-Star rosters are selected exclusively from 1st Team All-State-Star players, 2nd team players are NOT allowed to compete in the All Star game.
- If a 1st Team player cannot participate, substitutes can be drawn from the 2nd Team All-State list, prioritizing team needs and regional representation. However, the Head Coach of the team is the only person that may petition for additional players.
- Selected players will be notified by November 9th, 2025. Participation requires:
- Payment of a $50 participation fee (covered by the player’s organization; TAIAO does not collect from parents).
- Attendance at one mandatory practice (held locally on Friday, December 5, 2025).
Coach Selection
- Head coaches for each All-Star team will be selected from the top-ranked MaxPreps team in each Division at the end of the regular season.
- Selected coaches must commit to:
- Ensuring a fun and competitive experience, with a minimum of one quarter of playing time per player.
- Organizing at least one team social event (e.g., dinner).
- Inviting an assistant from another team in their respective regions.
